Tasmania Police publish crime figures for the whole state only. There are no suburb or council
figures, so this page has no suburb rankings. It shows the state-wide trend and how Tasmania compares
with the rest of Australia.

Tasmania compared with Australia, 2025
Each state counts offences its own way, so this uses the ABS's national collection, which
counts victims recorded by police on one definition for every state (calendar years).

The ABS randomly adjusts small cells to protect confidentiality, so small figures (e.g. homicide) move around.
Why there are no Tasmanian suburb figures
Every other state and territory publishes recorded crime by suburb, council or police district. Tasmania
Police publish an annual state-wide supplement only, as a PDF. We're asking Tasmania Police for
suburb-level figures under the Right to Information Act 2009 (Tas), and will add them here if they're released.
